Our Philosophy

At The Friendly Nest, we focus on providing a comfortable, home-like, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. It is important to us that your child feels as if they are at their second home and are able to be themselves, while developing positive relationships with the educators and their peers. We encourage this by providing unconditional love and ensuring the children's needs are consistently met.

Another area of focus at The Friendly nest is our open ended play approach to learning. The Waldorf approach, or "Steiner Education"  inspires our curriculum and the materials we provide for the children. You will find a lot of natural materials in our environment which will promote problem solving, creativity, experimenting and a lot of questions. Often times, the materials we set out are not used in the way the educators expect; this just adds to the fun of learning!
